Brandon Wester, CFA®

Chief Investment Officer

brandon@longwavefinancial.com

Born into a family of first-generation Cuban immigrants, Brandon grew up in both Portland, Oregon and Miami, Florida. Whether it’s sequoias or palm trees, Brandon cherishes the vibrant Spanish-Cuban culture of Miami as much as he does the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, considering both places his home. It also means he has very strong feelings about what makes a good cup of coffee. The duality of his bi-coastal upbringing has instilled in him a profound curiosity and a keen desire to make a meaningful impact on the world. His travels have taken him across much of the U.S. and through Europe, with Iceland standing out as his favorite because of its volcanos, waterfalls and black sand beaches. On weekends, you'll find Brandon either exploring in his 1980 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Camper or tinkering with it, as it frequently needs some attention.

Brandon holds dual undergraduate degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management from the University of Portland, along with a Design & Entrepreneurship Fellowship from Stanford University. During his undergraduate education, he also served as the Director of Finance for the Associated Students at the University of Portland. He further pursued a Master of Science in Finance at the Pamplin School of Business, University of Portland.

Brandon's career in finance spans various areas, from wealth and insurance advisory at Country Financial in Oregon, to private equity analysis at Access Securities across Connecticut and New York. He also managed the Ralph Miller Fund for the University of Portland endowment through volatile market conditions, focusing on the emerging foreign sector.
