Nathan began his career at a large financial institution but his passion for providing clients with objective advice led him to create Longwave Financial in 2012¹. Nathan traces his independent streak to his family’s emigration from Latvia in the Soviet Union when he was 5 years old. To leave one’s home requires optimism and a desire for a better life – Nathan inherited these traits from his parents.
Nathan became a financial advisor to create better lives for his clients but was disappointed in the traditional financial industry with its high fees, limited choices and haphazard approach to investing. Leaning on his Philosophy background, Nathan developed an approach to financial planning and investing that focuses on more reliable outcomes and fiduciary guidelines. As a result, Nathan was recognized among the top independent financial advisors in the country by REP. Magazine in Jan. 2014².
Nathan holds a BA in Philosophy from Queens College. He collects books, enjoys music and burning up the dance floor with his wife Meg. Together they have three rambunctious boys ages 6, 5 and 1. Nathan is hopeful that his independent spirit will be inherited by his children… but not too independent.
